A collection of 33 original short stories, 8 of which will be published alongside English translations. Between 2006 and 2015, around the time he wrote his novel Exile, Phu Kradat spent a day writing a story. Each one reads like vignettes into everyday life, dreams, folklore, and future speculations that reveal the darkest truths about Thai society, all told in Phu Kradat's cryptic prose.

About the Author

Born and raised in the Isan region of Thailand, ‘Phu Kradat’ or Thanat Thammakaew (b. 1977) is the author of two volumes of short stories, Like a Body Without Organs [ดังเรือนร่างไร้องคาพยพ] (2015), shortlisted for the SEA Write Award 2017 and Hour Before the March [ชัวโมงก่อนพิธี สวนสนาม] (2016), a collection of poems Not to Be Seen [ไม่ปรากฏ] (2013), the novel Exile [เนรเทศ] (2014) shortlisted for SEA Write Award 2015, and the recently published epic saga 24/7-11 (2020). He currently lives and works in the east coast of Thailand, spending half his time managing a food production factory and the rest dedicated to writing.
